The process Novatec 200 ff for the galvanic deposition of highly corrosion-resistant zinc-iron coatings combines functional corrosion protection with an attractive surface design.
Typical application areas for components with zinc-iron coatings are the automotive and electrical industry, equipment and machinery manufacturing, as well as sheet metal processing.
Materials that are difficult to coat, such as cast iron, can also be coated in a process-reliable way. Holder has developed a special process for this purpose.

Under the designation Novatec 200 ff, you receive a chromium(VI)-free galvanic zinc-iron surface in a quality that meets and even exceeds common automotive specifications and surface standards.
This corrosion protection system, developed by Holder, is temperature-resistant. Under extreme thermal loads, for example in the engine compartment or brake area, the protective effect remains fully intact.
The corrosion protection system is environmentally friendly and has proven itself many times over.

Zinc-iron is an economical process offering high corrosion protection, good bending capacity and flangeability, enhanced temperature resistance, and high peel strength of the passivation layers. Depending on the component, selective coating and internal coating using inner-anode technique are also possible.
Which materials are suitable for zinc-iron coating?
Zinc-iron is particularly suitable for components made of steel and cast iron. For materials that are difficult to coat, such as cast iron, Holder has developed a special process that allows these components to be coated in a process-reliable way.
What corrosion resistance does zinc-iron achieve?
Corrosion resistance is tested in the neutral salt spray test according to DIN EN ISO 9227 – NSS. Typical values are more than 360 hours without white rust and more than 600 hours without red rust.
What passivations and post-treatments are possible?
For rack-plated goods, a transparent thick-layer passivation is used as post-treatment. Optionally, sealing with or without slip additives, TOPCOATS, preservation of uncoated internal areas, and heat treatment for hydrogen de-embrittlement are possible.
